I love to cook...and I love sharing my recipes. This website is my tribute to all wonderful cooks and recipes who inspired me.
A little about me.. I grew up in Upstate New York (I'm practically Canadian) in a very small village with 2 brothers and my baker of a sister. She's the baker in the famdamily. Anyway, I digress... My mother was an absolute saint! She was full Irish and somehow she married my dad who was full Italian. We ate Irish every night of the week, but Sunday was always, always Italian food. So, I have had my life's share of meat and potatoes mind you.
I graduated college as a nurse and after a couple hits and misses, met my soul mate. Trouble was, he was from Italy and spoke no English. Fast forward to 33 years later with the Italian and 2 wonderful children who are the peaches of my eye (we live in Atlanta so I have to say that!)
I have always had a passion for cooking. Every year when we went to Italy, I was amazed at my mother in laws cooking. Lunch there is the big meal and she would start cooking at 8am. I was like "what in the world is this woman doing?"
Then we ate - it was the most delicious food ever. Her and my mom alike were masters in the kitchen and somehow, somewhere, it came to me that I could be one too.
So this is my attempt at spreading joy and love of food.
All of the recipes on this site have been tried and edited , and tried again and edited. This is a combination of a lot of different types of food, but I will say that it is heavily Italianized as I have been cooking for one for over 3 decades - btw , he is a wonderful sous chef!
So here we go!
